LIMA, Ohio - The Madonna University women's basketball team fell 76-44 in the WHAC Conference opener to the University of Northwestern Ohio from The Garage. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders began the game on a 6-0 run before UNOH responded by scoring the final 21 points in the opening quarter to take a 21-6 lead. In the second, the Racers maintained their lead however Madonna showed some signs of life by only being outscored 15-10. The Crusaders got buckets from Sophie Ruggles while Keara Wilson and Delani Robinson each made a couple free throws. UNOH took a 36-16 lead into the halftime break.

UNOH continued to stay in front in both the third and fourth quarters, including a 28-point outburst in the third period. The fourth quarter saw Madonna outscore UNOH 16-12, with Ti'Syn Callahan scoring seven points in the period. Unfortunately, the early hole was too much to overcome, and UNOH cruised to victory. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Keara Wilson scored a team-high 11 points, while Callahan and Caprice Augustine had nine points each.
• Callahan grabbed a team-high five rebounds, while Anderson and Robinson each had four.
• Madonna was 17-of-50 from the field, 2-of-13 from three-point range, and 8-of-13 from the free throw line. 
• Alysia Lawson led UNOH with a game-high 28 points.
