CALDWELL, Id. - The Crusaders' Men's Basketball Team was back in action Friday night in the Taco Bell Shootout to take on the Mounties of Eastern Oregon University where the Crusaders captured their third-straight win with an 81-68 victory. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Crusaders got off to a near-perfect start as Brendan Young continued his dominance this week scoring six straight points as Madonna jumped out to an 8-0 lead. The Mounties wouldn't get on the board until the 17:22 mark, Deric Murray and Young would carry the load scoring 31 of the Crusaders' 38 points in the first half. 

Coming out of the break, Henry Speight would convert an old fashion three-point play to extend the Crusaders' lead to 41-32. The Mounties would battle back and make this one interesting as they took the lead with 16:48 left in the game. However, the Crusaders took the lead right back as Young knocked down another triple. With 6:37 left in the game, Madonna found themselves up 66-63, with the remaining minutes left the Crusaders would go on a 15-5 run to seal the victory and win 81-68.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
 

• Young continued his dominance and posted 27 points and 13 rebounds
• Mark Mettie finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks, and two steals
• Murray added 16 points on 7-11 shooting off the bench
• Speight racked up 11 points and five rebounds

The Crusaders will be back in action tomorrow as they wrap up the Taco Bell Shootout as they take on No. 4 ranked Yotes of the College of Idaho at 9:00 p.m. EST / 7:00 p.m. MST.
