ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - A valiant effort by the men's basketball program Saturday afternoon against Rochester University (Mich.) would secure them a 66-49 victory and end their two-game losing streak 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders once against would jump out to a great start jumping out to a 20-6 lead. The Crusaders' defense was present right from the tip. In the first half they turned the warriors over five times and held them to 28% shooting and 17% from three to take a 32-19 lead into the half.

In the second, Madonna extended their lead to 15, however Rochester slowly started to chip away at the Crusaders' lead. By the 12 minute mark Rochester had closed the gab to just five and Coach Emenhiser would take a timeout. Coming out at the timeout, the trio of Henry Speight, Mark Mettie and Deric Murray would take over and score the next twelve points for the Crusaders and just like that the lead was back into double-digits. Despite not making a three in the second half, the Crusaders' defense prevailed and would lead Madonna to a 66-49 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• With Mettie's block tonight, he officially ties Eoghann Stephens (2011-13) with 160 career blocks
• Madonna would dominate the points in the paint battle 46-16
