LIVONIA, Mich. –  Madonna University's Volleyball program was back in action Wednesday night to take on the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers and the Crusaders would come away with a 3-1 victory. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders were looking to bounce back after Saturday's loss at Cornerstone University (Mich.). Madonna quickly found themselves down 13-8 but rattled off a 10-2 run 17-5 run to take the first set 25-18. The Races showed some life and shocked the Crusaders as they took the second set from Madonna 25-22. The third and fourth set the Crusaders looked like the defending Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Champions and cruised to a victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Kira Buza lead the Crusaders with 12 kills, six block assists, and three aces
• Tauri Hintz only played the third and fourth sets and made a immediate impact, finishing with seven kills, and a block assists
• Jaeda Porter finished with seven kills five block assists
• Ryley Osentoski continues to thrive as the Crusaders new libero as she had 26 digs, two assists, and two aces

UP NEXT

The Crusaders will return to WHAC play next Wednesday, October 12 as they travel to Rochester University (Mich.) to take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m.
