ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. –  Madonna University's Volleyball program was back in action Wednesday night to take on the Warriors of Rochester University (Mich.) where the Crusaders would take home the victory in four sets. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders were looking to carry their momentum after last week's win over the University of Northwestern Ohio. In the first set, Kira Buza starts off hot scoring three of the Crusaders' first five points. The Warriors battle back after being down 5-1 to tie it at 8-8. However, the Crusaders would pull away and win the first 25-22. The second set was just as close, tied at 16 a piece. Nevertheless, the Warriors caught fire and went on a 9-5 run to secure the second set 25-21. In the third and fourth sets, the Crusaders came alive to secure the win and move to 8-9 on the season and 5-6 in conference play. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Jaeda Porter led the Crusaders with a season-high 15 kills, six digs, and five block assists
• Buza went for 13 kills and four block assists 
• Kacie Stoneburner finished with 22 assists, nine kills, and one block assists
• Kendal Medows had 32 assists

UP NEXT

The Crusaders will return to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play on Wednesday, October 14 as they travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. to the on the Warriors of Indiana Tech at 7:00 p.m.
