FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Madonna University Volleyball program was back in action Friday night as the Crusaders took on the Warriors of Indiana Tech where Madonna brought home a 3-1 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Crusaders came into this one looking for their third-straight win, and in this match would be without sophomore
Ryley Osentoski who's been the libero for the past four games. In the first set the Warriors jumped out to a 4-2 lead. Nevertheless, the Crusaders rattled off a 7-1 run to take a 9-5 lead. The Crusaders would string a couple of 3-0, and 2-0 runs to find themselves up 24-19. The Warriors didn't go away quietly as the four points in a row making it 24-23 in favor of Madonna. The Crusaders would catch a break as the Warriors would serve the next ball into the net and Madonna would take set number one.
The second set was more of the same for Madonna, as the went on multiple little runs and wouldn't let Indiana Tech to gain any momentum. A big 11-4 run would help Madonna jump out to an 18-9 lead and the Crusaders didn't look back winning the second 25-19. In the third, the Warriors showed why they are a top three team in the conference and would take the third 25-17. The Crusaders would bounce back in the fourth and take the final set 25-21
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Kira Buza lead the Crusaders with 11 kills and two aces
- Molly Miller had another big night with 10 kills, and two block assists
- Jaeda Porter had an all around night with six kills and five block assists
- In her first game back as the libero Jamie Ciacico would finish with 13 digs and no reception errors

The Crusaders will return to action on Wednesday, November 19 when they host the Blue Devils of Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) at 7:00 p.m.
