LIVONIA, Mich. - The Madonna University volleyball team fell 3-0 to visiting Cornerstone University (Mich.) on Friday evening in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Golden Eagles came into tonight's match riding a program record 26-game winning streak, and they showed why as they took the first set 25-18. In set two, the Crusaders were competitive but again fell 25-20.

The final set was a back-and-forth affair, as neither team led by more than three points. Madonna battled and led 24-23, before a Cornerstone timeout allowed them to regroup and score the final three points of the match and take the victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Kira Buza, Molly Miller, and DJ Sargent each posted six kills for Madonna.
• Jaeda Porter recorded six blocks, while Kendall Meadows had 13 assists and Kacie Stoneburner had 10 assists.
• Leading the Crusaders in digs was Jamie Ciacico with 15.
