ANN ARBOR, Mich. –  Madonna University's Volleyball program returned to action Saturday afternoon and saw their five-game winning streak come to an end at the hands of the University of Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines 3-1. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

After last night's thrilling comeback the Crusaders were looking for a statement win against the Wolverines who sit in the fourth spot in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) standings. In the first set, the Crusaders were right in the thick of it as they were all knotted up at 10-10 with the Wolverines. However, a 15-9 run by the Wolverines helped them secure the first set. 
Madonna would open up the second set with kills from Tauri Hintz, Molly Miller, and Kacie Stoneburner to take an early 4-0 lead. The Crusaders would extend their lead to 8-2, but the momentum would swing back to the wolverines as they battled back to tie it 12-12. Madonna would take advantage of a 13-5 run to take set number two. In the third and fourth sets, the Wolverines showed why they have won four of their last five as they took the third 25-22 and the fourth 25-15. The Crusaders would fall to 11-9 on the year and 8-6 in the WHAC.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Kira Buza would continue her hot streak as she finished with 13 kills and five block assists
• DJ Sargent would finish with seven kills
• Stoneburner would finish with 22 assists and four block assists

UP NEXT

The Crusaders will return to action Wednesday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m. when they travel to take on the Cardinals of Concordia University (Mich.)
