LIVONIA, Mich. -  The Madonna University Women's Lacrosse team defeated Lourdes University (Ohio) 25-2 on Senior Day at the Madonna Athletic Complex Saturday morning, a program-high in goals scored. 

Madeleine Caswell got things started for Madonna with 25:16 left to go in the first half before the Gray Wolves attack got its one, and only, goal of the half. Madonna then went on a 14-0 run with goals from Arianna Rivera, Christy Battersby, Courtney Hoeland, Caswell, Haley Skeens, and Jerilyn Chapp.

In the first half, Caswell had four goals, Rivera had five, Battersby had two, Hoeland had two, and Chapp had one. 

The story was similar in the second half. Lourdes got the first goal before Madonna ripped off a 10-0 run once more behind the efforts of Brittney Leist, Battersby, Valarie Patterson, Lauren Plave, Emily Daly, Madison Kadwell. A few of those tallied their first goals of the season.

IN THE STATS:

• Rivera and Caswell led the way with five goals, Battersby just behind with four goals
• Caswell also was the categorical leader in assists with four. Plave, Leist, and Gettel each stripped two caused turnovers

UP NEXT

• The Crusaders will conclude the regular season Sunday, April 18 at noon as it plays host to Aquinas College (Mich.), a team Madonna previously lost to 16-12 on March 13.
