SYLVANIA, Ohio. -  The Madonna University Men's Lacrosse team were defeated by the Lourdes University (Ohio) Gray Wolves, 11-10 on Wednesday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium. 

Senior Harry Dyson wasted no time, scoring 54 seconds into the game as junior Ian Rush followed up with a goal of his own for a 2-0 advantage early in the first quarter. Rush's second goal was sandwiched between two Gray Wolves goals as the Crusaders led 3-2 after one.

Junior Cole Gingell gave Madonna a two-goal lead first thing into the second quarter before Lourdes hit back-to-back goals. Gingell hit one final goal just before halftime as Madonna held a 5-4 edge into halftime. 

Lourdes then went on a 5-0 lead to where the Crusaders would never recover. Gingell. freshman Anthony Floro, and Dyson went on a 3-0 scoring run for Madonna to end the quarter with the score 9-8 in the Gray Wolves advantage. 

Floro then was able to score on an extra-man opportunity to start the fourth though Lourdes would secure two more goals before Floro scored the game's final goal at the 10:52 mark left in regulation.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Gingell and Floro led the team with three goals each, Rush and Dyson each tallied two
• Gingell also led in assists on the day, sophomore Abraham Khoury cased two turnovers

UP NEXT

• The Crusaders will be in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Wednesday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. to play the No. 2-ranked Indiana Tech University.
