LIVONIA, Mich. - Â The Madonna University Men's Lacrosse tacked on its third-straight win, second in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Play with a 14-7 win over University of Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday afternoon.Â
Sophomore Marco McMann got things started for Madonna just 1:03 into the game followed by junior Ian Rush a short minute later for a 2-0 lead. The Wolverines were able to sink one in the cage before the Crusaders gave themselves a 4-1 lead with goals from senior Harry Dyson and junior Cole Gingell after one.
Both teams exchanged punches in the second with junior Jordan Davis twice, Rush, and freshman Teddy White getting three quick shots in. White tacked one more on with just over two minutes to go in the half before Dyson bagged back-to-back goals to close out the frame for a 10-4 lead.
Dyson got it going in the third for the lone Crusaders' goal of the quarter as the Wolverines closed out the rest of the stand with two more. The fourth quarter was trademarked by Gingell as he scored all three of the goals for Madonna in the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Gingell once again led the team in goals with four off nine shots and one assist. Dyson nabbed three goals and a solo assist as well.Â
- As a team, Madonna notched six assists in total with Davis the leader in the category with two. White held the advantage at the x by a large amount, winning 16 of 24 skirmishes for a .667 win percentage.Â
- Senior Jeff Varner faced thirteen shots in his third-credited win of the season.
