SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -  The Madonna University Women's Lacrosse team fell to the fifth-ranked team in the country in Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) on Saturday by a score of 17-4.

The first goal of this Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opener belonged to freshman Aria Gettel at the 23:09 mark in the first half before the Blue Devils pulled away and never looked back. Freshman Arianna Rivera closed out the half with a goal of her own as the Crusaders went into the locker room behind 7-2. 

Starting off the second half was Madeleine Caswell just a few minutes into the frame before Gettel notched her second and final game goal of the day with 5:11 left to play.

• The Crusaders will return home on Wednesday, March 24 at 3:30 p.m. where it plays host to receiving votes Cleary University (Mich.).
