NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Madonna University Women's Basketball team was on the road Thursday night to take on Holy Cross College (Ind.) and lost 59-34.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Holy Cross jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead as the Crusaders missed their first six shots of the night. It was a rough shooting night for the Crusaders and in the first quarter,  Madonna went 2-13 from the field but only found themselves trailing 14-8 after one. 

The second quarter was not much better for Madonna as they were held to just 15% shooting going 3-20 from the field. However, the Crusaders were only outscored 11-8 in the second quarter but the Saints lead would grow to nine at the half. 

In the second half, Madonna wood shoot 8-30 from the field and 0-7 from three-point range. Holy Cross would outscore Madonna 34-18 in the second half and the Crusaders would fall 59-34.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

• Megan Aho led the Crusaders with 14 points, nine rebounds, and four steals
• April Hudelson was the next leading scorer with seven points, also finished with nine rebounds and a block.

UP NEXT

The Crusaders will be back at home at the ACCU Arena this Saturday, December 11 to take on Rochester College, tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
