SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Madonna University Women's Basketball team was on the road Monday night to take on Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) and the Crusaders lost 68-56 ending their four game winning streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED

It was a hard fought battle against the Crusaders and Blue Devils and was a back and forth battle all night. In the first, April Hudelson put the Crusaders on her back to keep them in the game early on. Hudelson had 10 points on 5-7 shooting and thanks to a Megan Aho buzzer beater from the right elbow, Madonna led 19-17 after one. 

In the second quarter, the Crusaders defense came alive. Madonna held the Blue Devils to two made field goals and 11.8% shooting for the entire second period. Megan Aho did her thing as she finished this period with seven points, four rebounds, and two assists. The Crusaders ended the second on a 10-4 run to lead 35-26 at the half.

In the third and fourth quarters things started to fall apart for Madonna, the Crusaders shot 7-23 from the field and went 2-10 from long range. The Blue Devils were able to outscore the Crusaders 42-21 in the second half, and Madonna fell 68-56.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

• Hudelson led the Crusaders with s game-high 17 points and also had seven rebounds, a steal and a block
• Aho did her thing and finished with 15 points, a game-high 13 rebounds, six assists, and two steals
• Sarah Tanderys finished the game with nine points and four assists.

UP NEXT

The Crusaders will be on the road again Thursday, December 9 to take on Holy Cross College (Ind.), tip off will be at 6:00 p.m.
