LIVONIA, Mich.-- Madonna University Men's Basketball was back in action Monday afternoon and fell 91-85 against Huntington University (Ind.) at the Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Foresters came out hot jumping out to a quick 11-5 lead. Out of a Crusader timeout, Noah Campbell got a jumper to fall to cut Huntington's lead down to four. The Crusaders would struggle from the field only shooting 38.2% from the field as the Forester's lead would grow to 24-12 at the 11:16 mark of the half. The rest of the half was back and forth and the Crusaders found themselves trailing 47-33 at the break. 

In the second half, the Crusaders' offense came alive as they would make seven threes and shoot 54.3% from the field. The freshman duo of Ethan Emerzian and Brendan Young combined for 25 second-half points and six rebounds. With five minutes remaining in the game the Crusaders found themselves trailing 84-70. However, Madonna would go on a 12-3 run to close Huntington's lead down to just five. The Foresters would ice the game with free-throws and Madonna would fall 91-55.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Emerzian would erupt for 22 points and seven rebounds off the bench
• Campbell would finish with 19 points (11 in the first half), five rebounds, and three steals
• Young finished with a double-double, 15 points, and 10 rebounds
• Matthew MacLellan finished with 10 points and six rebounds

The Crusaders will have a break before hitting the road to take on the University of St. Francis (Ill.) at the Pat Sullivan Center on Thursday, December 30 at 1:00 p.m.
