DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Madonna University's Women's Basketball team fell 70-48 in the final day of the Trojan Classic against Trinity International University (Ill.) at Van Dixhorn Arena Saturday afternoon. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Trojans jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and would keep their feet on the gas pedal and would not look back. The Crusaders were held to just nine points on 23.5% shooting in the first period and found themselves down by 10 after one. 

In the second period, the Crusaders showed improvement, they shot better from the field, and held the Trojans to only 33.3% shooting compared to their 48% shooting in the first. Despite that, they found themselves down 34-19 at the half. 

In the second half, Megan Aho was her usual self, Aho racking up 15 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals to try and help the Crusaders make a final comeback. Unfortunately for the Crusaders that did not happen as they were outscored 19-15 in the third and 17-14 in the fourth. The Crusaders eventually fell 70-48.

• Megan Aho lead the crusaders with 21 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals
• April Hudelson finished the game with 10 points, six rebounds 
• A bright spot for the Crusaders as they only turned the ball over nine times to TIU's 12

The Crusaders will return to the Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena at the tomorrow for a Wolverine Hosier Athletic Conference matchup against the 3-0 Saints of Siena Heights University (Mich.) tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
