GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-- Madonna University's Volleyball team suffered a 3-0 sweep at the hands of Cornerstone University Wednesday night at Mol Arena for the team's second straight Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Madonna held the Golden Eagles evenly through the beginning stages of the first set to take the lead at 19-18 behind kills from Molly Miller and Jodie Kelly before Cornerstone stole the set in a 7-1 run.

The Crusaders started out on a 3-0 run behind Kacie Stoneburner and a 15-9 lead midway through the second as Cornerstone pushed out a 10-0 squeeze to effectively secure set two.

Yet again, Madonna would find ways to be in the lead but ultimately would not be able to overcome any deficit that the Golden Eagles would put them in.

Madonna will make another trip to the west side of the state on Saturday, October 9 in Grand Rapids this time on the campus of Aquinas College (Mich.) at 1:00 p.m.
