LIMA, Ohio.-- The Madonna University Volleyball team continued Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play Saturday on the road at the Racer Gymnasium beating the home University of Northwestern Ohio Racers 3-0.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first set started off with a frenzy of shots between both teams with Jaeda Porter, Molly Miller, and DJ Sargent. Jodie Kelly's kills kept the Crusaders within striking distance, finding themselves behind 16-11. Sargent, Miller and a few errors by the Racers gave Madonna sparing points with UNOH within two points of the set victory at 23-16. Sargent, Kelly, four-straight attacking errors by UNOH, and Porter all helped the Crusaders to a 8-0 run forcing both teams to go into extra points. Kelly and Miller, the deadly duo, finished off the Madonna comeback in the set 27-25. 

Madonna once again had to battle back early in the second, finding themselves tied 15-15 at one point. At 17-17, Madonna once again was sent on a streak by four-straight errors committed by the Racers for a 21-17 advantage. UNOH would try and climb back but Miller rocketed an attack off the hand of a blocker for the set win, 25-22. 

The third set was much different with Madonna owning each point from start to finish with a 10-3 run in the first 13 points of the set behind a Miller service ace. Sargent then slammed a kill that would complete the season sweep of the Racers in six sets over two games. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Kelly was the team's kill leader with 12, Porter behind with nine
• Madonna stuffed five blocks at the net to UNOH's three
• Jordyn Dawson aided 33 assists
