AVON PARK, Fla. - The Madonna University baseball team ended its spring trip on a high note as the Crusaders scored six runs in the seventh inning to upset seventh-ranked Bellevue University (Neb.) on the final day of the Warner University Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The Bruins controlled most of the game as they scored a run in the first, two in the second and on in the fifth to build a 4-2 lead. The Crusaders got on the board in the third as Frankie Lucska drove home Kyle Aniol and Jerad Dokey.

The offense erupted for the Blue and Gold in the seventh as they sent 11 batters to the plate and scored six runs on five hits with two errors. Alex Garbacik got things started with a one-out single and scored on a Joey Pejuan pinch-hit double. Noah Moore was intentionally walked and Adrian Reed delivered the big hit as he singled to left to tie the game. An error off the bat of Jerad Dokey put MU in front, Aniol singled in a pair and Noah Renaud reached on an error and brought in the final run.

  • 10: Madonna drew 10 walks in the win led by Garbacik's three
  • 8: The Blue and Gold recorded eight RBI on the eight runs but also struck out eight
  • 4: Bellevue scored four runs on four hits with four walks and four strikeouts

  • Garbacik - tallied a team-high two or MU's six hits, scored a run and walked three times
