ATHENS, Tenn. - The sixth-ranked Madonna University men's lacrosse team went 1-for-22 in the faceoff circle and lacked energy and fire in a 12-7 loss to Tennessee Wesleyan University on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs scored first 3:15 into the contest, but Vince Floro fed Tyler Kilar two minutes later to even the score. Unfortunately for MU the home team scored the next three goals and never looked back.

Jordan Davis added a goal midway through the second quarter to make it a 4-2 game and Kilar scored the last goal of the half for a 6-3 deficit, but MU got no closer than three the rest of the way. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Nick Conrad paced MU with six shots while Kilar and Davis led the offense with two goals each on five shots apiece
• Floro finished with three points on two goals and an assist and Lucas Kalscheur netted the other goal
• Jeff Varner led MU with five ground balls and made 10 saves
• MU was outshot 38-31 and 22-18 in shots on goal but went 21-for-22 in clears while TWU was 8-of-11 and had more turnovers (19-12) than MU
