ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Offense wasn't a problem for the sixth-ranked Madonna University men's lacrosse team on Sunday afternoon as the Crusaders tallied nine first-half goals in a rout of Ottawa University (Kan.) at Spartan Field in St. Louis, Missouri, 14-2. 

Sophomore Vince Floro, a day after scoring the overtime winner, had an impressive first half as he tallied two goals and two assists. Nick Conrad beat a double-team with 2:11 to play in the first period to give MU a 3-0 lead and Floro netted his second of the period in wrap-around fashion a minute later. Three goals within four minutes in the second period, capped by Tyler Kilar, who went top-shelf to the upper left corner, to make it 7-0. 

Eddie Dyle dominated the third period with a pair of goals and MU added three more in the fourth, capped by Lucas Kalscheur, for the 14-2 win. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Floro led MU with six points on three goals and three assists while Kalscheur added two goals and an assist to go with four groundballs
  • Four players, Conrad, Kilar, Dyla, and Jordan Davis, each posted two points while Kilar topped the team with 15 shots, eight on frame
  • Connor Wright paced the defense with three caused turnovers
  • Jeff Varner excelled again between the pipes as he allowed two goals on 10 shots
  • MU attempted 48 shots with 26 on goal, saw OU make 21 turnovers, and went 16-of-19 on clears
