UPLAND, Ind.-- The Madonna University Women's Basketball team fell 95-59 on Monday night at the hands of Taylor University (Ind.) in Odle Arena.Â
TURNING POINT:
- Taylor's 22-7 second quarter run en route to a 42-28 halftime lead.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Madonna lead by one point, 21-20, after the first quarter ended, shooting 47% from the field and a 33% success rate at the three-point arc. Â
- The Trojans retook, then extended, their lead into the half before Madonna found success yet again at the three-point line in the fourth quarter.Â
INDIVIDUAL LEADERS:
- Senior Megan Aho topped the scoring margin for the Crusaders with 11 points, seven rebounds, and four assists as well as five total blocks on the night.
- Junior Sarah Tanderys and junior Claire LeRoux each compiled nine points a piece as each banked three, three-point shots. Â
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- 9: Nine Crusaders found themselves in the scoring column lead by Aho with 11 along with Tanderys and LeRoux each accounting for nine.
- 26: Madonna compiled 26 points coming off the bench throughout the game to compliment nine different Crusader scorers.
- 9-19: The Crusaders started off well, going 9-19 from the field for a 47% field goal percentage as well as a successful three-point rate of 33%.
- 57.14%: As the game came to a close, Madonna shot 57.14% from the three-point line in the fourth quarter hitting four of seven attempted shots including back-to-back three point baskets by Tenderys at the mid-point in the quarter.
