LIVONIA, Mich. - The newly minted 22nd-ranked Madonna University men's basketball team led from start to finish in a dominant 84-62 win over Concordia University-Ann Arbor in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night. 

The Crusaders were led by Joshua Reynolds 25 points and Mark Mettie's double-double, his first of the season, as he grabbed 13 rebounds to go with 11 points. The sophomore was big inside the paint throughout the contest.

The Blue and Gold scored 14 of the first 17 points to take an early lead before the Cardinals cut the margin to as little as four points. That's when MU used a 16-4 run to push the lead to a first-half high 16 points, 37-21 with 2:07 to play. Madonna led by double-figures the rest of the night and pushed it to as many as 23, 84-61, on a Noah Campbell 3-pointer. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Madonna had four players net double-figures with Reynolds 25 leading the way. Dwight Burton added 14 to go with six assists while Mettie had 11 and Henry Speight added 11 points and six boards
  • This is the eighth time this season Reynolds has scored at least 20 points and his fourth game of 25 or more
  • The Crusaders outrebounded the Cardinals 48-35 and outscored them inside, 38-26
  • Madonna committed just 10 turnovers in the contest, the second-lowest mark of the season; in fact, three of their four lowest turnover contests has come in their last three games
