LIVONIA, Mich.- The fourth-ranked Madonna University men's soccer team had its win streak snapped with a 1-1 tie with Taylor University at the Madonna Athletic Complex on Friday evening. The Crusaders are now 3-0-1 on the season, while the Trojans fall to 2-2-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Josiah Wieland got the Trojans on the board in the seventh minute, after a penalty kick was awarded to Taylor. The Crusaders played a man down for the remainder of the game due to an intentional handball in the box
• The remaining 38 minutes saw the Crusaders dominate in shots, but they were not able to score
• The Crusaders got on the board in the 64th minute, when Yuri Farkas Guglielmi received a through ball from Bruno Piva de Castro and beat the keeper to the far side
• The Trojans got off a shot with four seconds remaining in regulation and Joe Smith was able to make the save easily
• The Crusaders narrowly missed a goal within the first minute of overtime, but Enzo Peloso's shot was just high
• Following that shot, the Trojans had four shots all within a minute of each other. Neither team had another quality look for the remainder of the game

INSIDE THE BOX

• The Crusaders are now 11-0-1 against the Trojans 
• The Blue and Gold outshot Taylor 23-11 and 8-6 in shots on goal 
• The shots in overtime were even as both teams were able to fire off six shots
• Eight total Crusaders rattled off shots on the Trojans, with Farkas leading the group with eight
