SPRING ARBOR, Mich..- The sixth-ranked Madonna University men's soccer team dropped a close Top 15 matchup with Spring Arbor University by the score of 1-0. The Crusaders fall to 3-1-1 on the season, while the Cougars improve to 4-1-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The first half was a lot of back and forth as both teams got their fair share of shots in.
• The second half was the same as the first half as neither team was able to get a shot into the net
• The Cougars were able to get the only score of the game in the 84th minute as Alex Sokalski got a long throw-in from the sideline and tapped it to Jacob Crull who kicked it past Joe Smith
• Following that goal, the Crusaders were not able despite the pressure to get a shot on the board in the final six minutes

INSIDE THE BOX

• The Crusaders are now 21-3-1 against the Cougars
• The Blue and Gold were outshot by Spring Arbor 9-8 and 5-4 in shots on goal 
• Five total Crusaders rattled off shots on the Cougars, with Castro leading the group with four

• The Crusaders will look to rebound on Wednesday, Sep. 18 when they travel to Bethel (Ind.) as that game will start with a 4 PM kickoff.
