LIVONIA, Mich. -- With a strong finish to the season, the Madonna University baseball team secured the No. 2 seed in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament and assured themselves of hosting one of the two first round pods.

The Crusaders will play host to No. 3 Lawrence Technological University and No. 6 Cornerstone University May 2-4 with the winner advancing to the best-of-3 championship series to be hosted by the highest remaining seed. If top-ranked Indiana Tech wins their pod, the winner of the Livonia pod would earn the second at-large bid to the NAIA Opening Round.

Games on Thursday, May 2 will begin at 10 a.m. with game two at 2 p.m. and game 3 at 4 p.m. Cornerstone will be the home team in the morning contest against Lawrence Tech with the loser to face the Crusaders at 1 p.m. and the winner taking on the host at 4 p.m. Home and away will alternate per contest.

On day two of the tournament, currently slated for Friday, May 3, there will be two games. If every team has one loss, then Cornerstone and Lawrence Tech will play again at 12 p.m. with Madonna facing the winner of that contest at 3 p.m.

If one team is eliminated on day one, the two remaining schools will play at 12 p.m. with an if necessary contest slated for 3 p.m. Should there be weather issues during the tournament, Saturday, May 4 is the rain date.

The best-of-3 championship series, played at the highest remaining seed, will be May 6-7 with a rain date of May 8.

Tickets for the tournament will be $7 for adults and $5 for students/seniors for a day pass while an all-tournament pass may be purchased for $12 for adults and $10 for students/seniors.
