FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.– Christy Battersby netted a hat trick, but it wasn't enough for the Madonna University women's lacrosse team in a 23-5 loss to 10th-ranked Lawrence Technological University at Farmington Hills Harrison High School on Saturday afternoon.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Blue Devils scored the first two goals before Battersby cut the deficit in half
- LTU scored 10 straight goals before Battersby added another with 1:12 left in the half for a 12-2 margin.
- Chelsea Plant and Battersby scored to answer a pair of Blue Devil tallies in the second half and Haley Skeens scored the final tally for the Blue and Gold.
BY THE NUMBERS
- 40-9: The Blue Devils outshot the Crusaders 40-9 in the contest with 37 on goal to MU's six
- 14: Eloise Wilber made 14 saves in the contest for the Blue and Gold
- 5: Dana Haney led Madonna with five ground balls and tallied a team-best three draw controls
- 3: Battersby finished with three points while Plant and Skeens each had one
