LIVONIA, Mich. – The Madonna University men's lacrosse team used dominant second and third quarter performances to comeback from an early deficit and defeat the Siena Heights Saints on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 13-10 at the MAC. The victory advances the Crusaders to the second round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament while the Saints see their tournament hopes fall short.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

• The Saints jumped out to an early 4-0 lead at the 12:51 mark of the second quarter

• Ian Rush, Harry Dyson, Cole Gingell, Anthony Salamone and Tyler Kilar all scored goals for MU over the next eight minutes of play, putting MU ahead 5-4

• The Crusaders once again outscored the Saints 6-3 in the third quarter, taking a 12-8 lead into the fourth quarter

• Strong offensive prowess from the Crusaders put the game on ice in the fourth as they dominated possession and used a late goal from Rush to extend lead to three

BY THE NUMBERS

• MU outshot SHU 51-40

• Tyler Dohmeier was spectacular in net making 13 saves in his 60 minutes of play

• Zachary Beam dominated face-offs, winning 17 of his 26 chances
