SYLVANIA, Ohio – Harry Dyson scored his 40th goal of the season and fourth of the game at just the right time on Wednesday at Wildcat Stadium as he tallied the game-winning goal less than 40 seconds into the second overtime to help the second-ranked Madonna University men's lacrosse team to a 13-12 win over No. 8 Lourdes University.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • Madonna scored first on a goal from Ryan Flaherty and he added a second to break a tie at 1. Dyson added his 37th goal of the season, but Lourdes netted a tally at 2:14 in the first first to make it 3-2.
  • Dyson scored the first goal of the second half to double the lead, but Lourdes followed with five straight goals to take a 7-4 lead.
  • Ian Rush and Dyson cut the deficit to one, but another Gray Wolves goal with 10 seconds left in the half gave the home team an 8-6 lead at the break.
  • Tyler Kilar and Rush each scored in the third to make it a one-goal game, but the home team also added two to make it 10-8 after three.
  • A pair of Flaherty goals, the first off an assist from Dyson, tied the game at 10 less the two minutes into the final period. Rush, from Jordan Davis, and Kilar each added a goal for a 12-11 lead, but the Gray Wolves scored with three seconds left to send the game to overtime.
  • After a scoreless four minutes, Dyson netted a goal 37 seconds into the second overtime for the 13-12 win.
BY THE NUMBERS
  • 39-37: Madonna was outshot for the fourth time this season, 39-37, and improved to 4-0 in such games; Lourdes also had more shots on goal (24-23)
  • 15-29:
  • 5: Dyson finished with five points as he scored four goals and added an assist. He attempted seven shots and put five on goal
  • 4: Flaherty finished with four points and put all four of his shots on goal in the net; Jake Hwier tallied a team-best four groundballs
