LIVONIA, Mich. A seven-goal first period left little doubt as to the outcome of the contest on Wednesday afternoon as the second-ranked Madonna University men's lacrosse team routed the University of Michigan-Dearborn 14-5 a the Madonna Athletics Complex.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • Madonna dominated the first quarter as they scored seven goals and outshot the Wolverines 17-5. All seven goals were assisted in the period as Anthony Salamone tallied six points (2 g, 4 a) and Harry Dyson (3 g) added three in the opening 15 minutes.
  • Ian Rush (2) and Jordan Davis scored in the second to make it 10-2 at the break, but the Wolverines scored at the buzzer and added two early in the third to cut the lead to six.
  • Three consecutive goals from Dyson and another from Salamone salted the game away
BY THE NUMBERS
  • 62-30: The Blue and Gold outshot the Wolverines 62-30 in the contest and put 33 shots on goal to UM-Dearborn's 17
