FORT WAYNE, Ind.– The Madonna University women's lacrosse team hung with the fifth-ranked Indiana Tech Warriors early in Wednesday nights contest, but the Fort Wayne program proved to be too much in a 17-6 loss at Warrior Athletic Field.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Madonna got on the board first as Madeleine Caswell scored less than five minutes into the contest
- Indiana Tech countered with four goals, but MU scored three-of-four to cut the deficit to one, 5-4
- Jerilyn Chap, Caswell and Christy Battersby each scored for MU in the run
- The Warriors scored the final four goals of the first half and the first two of the second to pull away
- Brittany Leist and Battersby each added a second half goal for the final tally
BY THE NUMBERS
- 46-17: Indiana Tech outshot the Crusaders 46-17 in the contest which included 35 on goal to MU's 17
- 18: Eloise Wilber made a single-game record 18 saves in the loss
- 17-7: The Warriors won 17-of-24 draw controls
- 2: Caswell and Battersby each finished with two points and each converted on a free-position shot
