LIVONIA, Mich. The Madonna University women's basketball team tasted victory for the first time this season thanks to an impressive day from Hannah Reinhold and Sydney Brown. The duo combined to score 52 of the Crusaders' 78 points in a 10-point victory over Concordia University-Ann Arbor on Saturday afternoon.

The Blue and Gold led by as many as 15 points and withstood a late charge by the Cardinals to secure the programs first win of the year. The Crusaders led by as many as five points in the first quarter thanks in part to Reinhold's impressive start - she scored four of MU's first eight points. Concordia didn't back down, however, and scored 8-of-11 points to end the quarter with a 13-12 lead. A 13-4 run to begin the second put MU back up eight, but the Cardinals hung around as the Crusaders led 35-30 at the break.

Concordia cut the lead to three on the first possession of the second half, but the Blue and Gold answered with a 10-1 run to push the lead to 12 points. Concordia cut it back to nine, but the Crusaders scored the final six points of the quarter for a game-high 15-point lead, 57-42.

Things got dicey to begin the fourth as the Cardinals used a 10-1 run to cut the lead to five, but the Crusaders responded and hit free throws down the stretch to earn the 10-point win.
