#RV @MUCrusadersVB continue dominance of Cardinals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Madonna University volleyball team continued to dominate the series with Concordia University - Ann Arbor as they won their 39th consecutive match against the Cardinals with a 3-1 win on Saturday evening.

The Crusaders improve to 15-6 overall and 7-2 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play while the Cardinals slip to 4-11 on the year and 1-8 in league action.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Concordia kept set one close until a Tauri Hintz kill gave MU a 10-7 lead and sparked an 8-1 run en route to a 25-12 set one victory.
  • Madonna used an early rally in set two to take a 7-6 lead, but the Cardinals scored 8-of-11 points and never trailed again to even the match at 1 with a 25-19 win.
  • Again, set three was close for much of the match with MU leading by two, 20-18, and it was Hintz who again sparked an MU rally. Erica LaBaere and Hintz followed with two more kills and MU went on to win 25-20.
  • The Blue and Gold used a five-point run to take a 13-11 lead early, but the Cardinals battled back to tie the set at 14 and 18. Again it was Hintz who started a four-point run to make it 22-18. After CUAA scored three straight, LaBaere terminated a pair and Jodie Kelly sealed the match with a kill for the 25-21 win.
