DEARBORN, Mich.  -  The Madonna University men's soccer team traveled to Dearborn, Mich. to take on the Wolverines from University of Michigan - Dearborn. The Crusaders were down early to start the game but fought their way back for the 2-1 victory in double overtime.

With the win the Crusaders improve to 9-2-2 on the year and 5-1 in the WHAC while University of Michigan - Dearborn falls to 4-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in league play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The Wolverines were able to get on the board first with a goal from Jacob Drzyzga for the 1-0 lead.
• Still in the first half the Crusaders tied the game up on a goal from Leonardo Gois Abonizio with an assist coming from Rodrigo Castro de Siqueira.
• The Crusaders had multiple shots in the final minutes but it was to no avail as they had to go into the overtime period.
• The final goal, or golden goal, of the game finally came in the 104th minute as Yuri Farkas Guglielmi scored the winning goal with an assist coming from Bruno Piva de Castro.

INSIDE THE BOX

• The Crusaders are now 8-0-1 all-time against the Wolverines
• Madonna put 10 of their 24 shots on goal in the contest while the Wolverines  managed 15 shots with four on frame
• MU also had three corner kicks to five for the away team
• Castro (six shots, four on goal), Farkas (four shots, two on goal) led the offense that saw nine total players rattle off a shot

UP NEXT

• The Blue and Gold will return to the pitch on Wednesday, Oct. 23 when they will return home for a matchup against Lourdes University for a 3 PM Kickoff.
