CHICAGO, Ill.. – The Madonna University women's basketball team was not able to hold off the consistent offense of Robert Morris on Saturday afternoon as they fall 93-60 at the Shannon Center. The Crusaders fall to 0-15 on the season while the Eagles improve to 8-8.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Hannah Reinhold and Sheldon Bochenek put the Crusaders ahead 4-0 early in the contest only to be held scoreless for the next three minutes, falling behind 8-4 in that time. Reinhold would score eight of the 14 points for the Blue and Gold in the first quarter despite trailing 27-14 at the buzzer.

The Eagles dominated the second quarter, growing their lead to 21 points with 3:49 remaining in the half. Sydney Brown dropped in a layup and hit a free throw for the final points of the half, behind 50-25.

Robert Morris did not look back as they grew their lead upwards of 35 points in the second half, diminishing only as small as 27 points thanks to an Emily Huff three-pointer late in the fourth quarter. An Eagle free throw with 1:06 remaining in the game would be the final point of the contest, ending the game by a score of 93-60.

Brown paced the Crusaders offense with 20 points and six rebounds to go along with five steals.

Cierra von Zittwitz, Reinhold, and Huff each posted 10 points in the contest, while Bochenek added eight of her own.

MU shot 37.9 percent (22-58) from the field, 7.7 percent (1-13) from beyond the arc, and 65.2 percent (15-23) from the line. The Eagles shot 50 percent (32-64) from field goal range, 62.5 percent (15-24) from deep, and 58.3 percent (14-24) from the free throw line.
