LIVONIA, Mich. – The Madonna University women's basketball team was not able to come back from a large first half deficit against NAIA No. 9 Indiana Tech on Saturday afternoon at the MU Activities Center. The loss drops the Crusaders to 0-12 on the season and 0-7 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play, while the Warriors improve to 13-1 on the year and 7-1 in WHAC competition.
HOW IT HAPPENED

The Crusaders were outscored 29-8 in the first quarter, while Lex Davis was the lone bright spot, putting up six of the eight points for the Crusaders.

The second quarter played out similarly to the first, as the Warriors outscored MU 17-8, leading 46-16 at halftime. Sheldon Bochenek and Cierra von Zittwitz combined for six points, while Davis dropped another layup for her eighth point of the game.

The Crusaders offense responded well in the second half as Hannah Reinhold and Kirsten Schapman drained three-pointers, and Naomi Davis put up four more points in the third quarter. Down by 36 to begin the fourth quarter, Reinhold sunk 10 points and von Zittwitz added four to conclude the game by a score of 85-50.
