In his second season, Barbe led the program to a 19-13 overall record and 13-7 mark in WHAC play. Barbe's second season at the helm ended in the WHAC Semifinals for the second straight year, falling to Indiana Tech 3-0. Kira Buza was named First Team All-WHAC for the second straight year, while Kacie Stoneburner was named Second Team All-WHAC for the third time in her career. Also earning Second Team All-WHAC honors under Barbe was Jaeda Porter, who finished with 232 kills for the season. 

In his first season leading the program, the Crusaders finished 15-13 overall and 11-9 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play. Three players earned All-WHAC honors following the conclusion of the regular season, they were Kira Buza, Kacie Stoneburner, and Molly Miller. In addition, DJ Sargent was named to the WHAC Champions of Character Team. Barbe led the team to the WHAC Semifinals after defeating Michigan-Dearborn in the quarterfinal round. Madonna fell to eventual WHAC Champion Cornerstone in the semifinals.
