Amanda Yaklin

Amanda Yaklin joined the Madonna volleyball staff in 2023. She previously served as an assistant volleyball coach at Wayne State (Mich.).  

Yaklin came to WSU after serving as the head volleyball coach at Oakland Community College in 2016, where she led the Raiders to a 20-10 overall record, including a 10-2 MCCAA mark.  She was named MCCAA Eastern Conference Coach of the Year for her efforts. 

From 2009-2014, she was the head coach at Northville High School, where she compiled a 215-89-33 career record, including back-to-back Class A final four appearances in 2012 and 2013.  Previously, she was an assistant coach at Livonia Churchill High School from 2006 until 2008 and helped the Chargers win the Class A state title in 2007. 

Yaklin has been very active the state's club and AAU volleyball scene.  In 2014, she launched the AMP Beach Volleyball Academy, and presently serves as the owner and director.  A certified master coach, Yaklin worked at Legacy Volleyball Club.

After graduating from Walled Lake Central High School in 2000, she played at Schoolcraft College (2000 and 2001) and Michigan-Dearborn (2002 and 2003).  Yaklin served as a team captain at both institutions.  While completing requirements for her bachelor's degree at Michigan-Dearborn, she served as a coach at Dearborn High School (2004 and 2005) and Our Lady of Victory (2008).
