Ryan Mitchell serves as the Assistant Athletic Director of Communications, Marketing & Promotions for Madonna Athletics, a role he assumed in May 2022 following a successful stint as Graduate Assistant and Assistant Sports Information Director.
A 2021 graduate of Bowling Green State University, Mitchell earned his Bachelor's degree in Sport Management with a minor in Journalism. While at BGSU, he served three years as Head Manager for the men’s basketball team, overseeing player workouts, developing scouting reports, and supporting recruiting presentations.
Since joining Madonna’s Athletic Communications department in Fall 2021, Mitchell has helped transform the university’s athletic outreach and brand visibility. Under his leadership, Madonna Athletics’ social media reach has grown to over 3,000 unique monthly viewers  on YouTube, averaging 800 viers per game and surpassing 100,000 total views per season. Across all platforms, he has implemented innovative content strategies and graphic standards that have significantly increased fan engagement, sponsor visibility, and national recognition.
Mitchell has also raised the department’s communications standards, introducing streamlined media procedures, enhanced live-streaming quality, and expanded storytelling efforts for student-athletes and teams.
Mitchell continues to elevate the Crusader brand with a vision centered on professional-level coverage, consistent brand identity, and connecting Crusader Nation to a wider audience than ever before.
