LIVONIA, Mich. - Arron Habecker scored the decisive goal at 74:47, lifting Taylor (IN) to a 2-1 victory over Madonna University's Madonna on Sept. 9. The Crusaders produced a 12-5 advantage in shots and put together a late push for an equalizer, but goalkeeper Connor Shaw protected the lead with four saves.

Madonna struck first at 13:04. Arvin Gorospe helped create the opening, setting up Basile Lozachmeur for a finish that gave the Crusaders a 1-0 advantage. Basile Lozachmeur remained at the center of the attack throughout the match, finishing with a team-high four shots, including two on goal. Arvin Gorospe added one shot to the assist.

The lead held until Matt Yoder equalized for Taylor (IN) at 38:06. That goal sent the teams into halftime tied 1-1 despite Madonna holding a 6-3 edge in first-half shots. The Crusaders continued to generate chances after the break, recording six more attempts and forcing Taylor (IN) to defend for extended stretches.

Basile Lozachmeur sent a shot wide left at 63:53 and had another attempt blocked at 67:13 as Madonna pressed for the go-ahead goal. Instead, Taylor (IN) moved in front when Roarke Watterson assisted Arron Habecker at 74:47. It was Arron Habecker's only shot of the match and stood as the game-winner.

The Crusaders finished with a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal and continued attacking into the closing minutes. Madonna Joan Arnau tested Connor Shaw at 87:24, but the goalkeeper made the save. Madonna Nolan Sanders produced Madonna's final recorded attempt 40 seconds later, only to see it blocked as Taylor (IN) held on. Lucas Schoenberger contributed two shots, including one on goal, while Joan Arnau also placed an attempt on target.

The Crusaders are back in action on Saturday, September 12th as they travel to Rio Grande, Ohio to take on the University of Rio Grande (Oh.). Kick-off is set for 3:00 PM.
