MARION, Ind. -- In a thrilling Regular Season Soccer game on September 10, 2025, the Madonna University Crusaders men's team faced off against the No. 6 ranked Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats in Marion, Indiana. The game, characterized by intense competition and strategic play, concluded with a remarkable 3-2 victory for the Crusaders.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

The first half of the game saw both teams defending stoutly, resulting in a 0-0 score at halftime. The real drama unfolded in the second half when Madonna University broke the deadlock with a series of rapid goals, turning the game in their favor. Jonas Hoerner, Alex Peytoureau, and Jordy Lopez were instrumental in this shift, each scoring a goal. Jordy Lopez's goal ultimately proved decisive, clinching the game for the Crusaders. Alex Peytoureau not only scored but also assisted on another goal, contributing significantly to the team's success.

Defensively, goalie Afonso Henrique was a cornerstone for Madonna, making nine critical saves throughout the match. His performance was pivotal in maintaining the team's lead amid persistent pressure from the Wildcats.
