CENTERVILLE, Ind. - The Madonna University Crusaders opened their 2025 campaign with a closely fought draw against the Indiana University East Red Wolves Thursday night. The night game featured a strong defensive display by both teams, resulting in a 0–0 draw
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Throughout the match, the Crusaders demonstrated resilience and offensive intent, taking 12 shots with five on goal. In contrast, the Red Wolves managed seven shots, with three on goal. Despite the active attempts from both sides, no goals were recorded.
A standout performance came from the Crusaders' goalkeeper, Araya Shaw, who in her fourth career start, maintained a shutout and made three crucial saves. Her highlight of the night was an acrobatic save in the 73rd minute that kept the scores level and preserved the deadlock.
The game remained scoreless at the end, marking a defensive battle that set the tone for both teams at the start of the season. The draw leaves Madonna University with a season record of 0–0–1.
