FORT WAYNE, Indiana. – After a thrilling repeat battle against Lawrence Tech, Madonna would advance to the WHAC Quarterfinals to face the regular season champions and number one seed in the tournament, Indiana Tech Warriors. The Warriors would stump the Crusaders in their quarterfinal matchup by ousting them 95-to-74.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Madonna would gain a slight lead early on with an
Ahmoni Weston three and a
Matthew MacLellan free throw, but the Warriors would gain early momentum and ride with it for the entirety of the game. The Warriors would maintain their lead with the later part of the first half being double digits. Indiana Tech would go into halftime with a 20-point lead after Lucas Lyyski would have a floater drop as time expired. The Warriors would have three players with double digit points entering the second half with Max Perez having ten, Dallas Roberts with 11, and Lyyski with ten.
The Crusaders would struggle throughout this game with shooting as Madonna would only shoot 32.26 percent in the first half.
Isaac Anderson would lead the way for the Crusaders in the first half by securing nine points, four rebounds, and two assists.
Satchel Love would also have a productive first half as Love would shoot 3-for-3 from the field and within eight minutes would generate six points.
The second half would see much of what was on display in the first, as the Warriors would carry most of what was a 20-point lead to round out the game. Indiana Tech's depth would shine in the remainder of the game as six Warriors would finish with double digit points. Out of those six players, Crew Gibson would generate a triple-double with 15 points, 13 assists, and 12 rebounds.
Anderson and
Matthew MacLellan would continue to do their thing as Anderson would finish with an impressive 22 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and one steal. MacLellan would also notch 22 points in the game with six rebounds and one block to add.
Ahmoni Weston would have a solid performance by scoring 13 points, five assists, three rebounds, and one steal.
With the loss, the Crusaders will finish with a 19-11 overall record while the Indiana Tech Warriors move onto the finals in the WHAC Men's Basketball Tournament and move to 23-6 overall.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Madonna outscored the Warriors off turnovers with 12 points and the Warriors only scoring six.
- Love shot 80 percent from the field and finished with eight points.

The Crusaders' WHAC Tournament play has ended for the season after being eliminated in the quarterfinals by Indiana Tech. Madonna will wait and see if they receive a spot in the NAIA National Tournament as the selection show will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 8:00 PM EST.
