The match opened under challenging circumstances for the Crusaders, as the Cougars took an early lead, concluding the first half with a score of 1-0 in favor of Cleary. The only goal of the first half was scored by Leonardo Vitali of Cleary University.

The second half saw a rejuvenated Madonna University team, spearheaded by impressive plays from Ryushin Hirami and Jordy Lopez.
