Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Crusaders knock off #RV Cougars

LIVONIA, Mich. - Madonna University Men's Soccer team (2-0-1, 0-0) picked up a huge win on #RV Spring Arbor University (2-2-0, 0-0) on Thursday afternoon. After a weather postponement moved the game from Wednesday night to Thursday afternoon the Crusaders were able to walk away victorious with a 2-0 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

From the beginning of the game the Crusaders seemed to have all the energy and momentum on their side. Although the first half ended scoreless, the Crusaders kept a majority of the possession and spent most of that possession time in their offensive attack. The Crusaders were able to get off six shots and five corners in the first half compared to the Cougars three shots and two corners.

In the second half the Crusaders struggled slightly to start the half as the Cougars came out much more aggressive than they did in the first half but the Crusaders would be able to withstand the push attempt. The Crusaders found their momentum again, making great offensive pushes and always one pass away from breaking the 0-0 tie until the 62nd minute where the Crusaders would finally find the back of the net off the head of Ren Suzuki who would score off a corner kick from Andres Gomez. Then 17 minutes later, in the 79th minute, the Crusaders would seal the game on a counter attack after an over aggressive Cougar play with a beautiful through ball from Jordy Lopez to Hassan Alatooli who would score his first career goal as a Crusader to take down the #RV Spring Arbor Cougars 2-0.
