Crusaders Pick Up Their First Win of the Season

LIVONIA, Mich. -- The Madonna University women's lacrosse team hosted Rochester Christian University. The Crusaders would defeat the Warriors for their first win of the season with a final of 7-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders looked to get their first win over a struggling Warriors team who had also yet to get a win. The Crusaders would pick up the first two goals of the game in the first quarter with goals from Katie Potter and Mia Dyson to give the Crusaders a 2-0 lead with 10:34 left in the first. The Warriors would then pick up two goals of their own to make it 2-2 after the first. In the second quarter the Crusaders would be held to just one goal from Potter for her second of the day and would head into halftime down 4-3.

In the second half the Crusaders would ramp up the pressure, especially on the ball making it very difficult for the Warriors to get anything going offensively as the Crusader defense would hold the Warriors to zero points in the second half.
