LIVONIA, Mich. -- The Madonna University Women's Lacrosse team fell to North Central College on Thursday evening with a final score of 14-6. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders looked to get their first win of the season over the North Central Cardinals but would come up short in a great effort from the Crusaders. North Central would have a strong first quarter getting off to an early 3-0 lead before Mia Dyson would find the back of the net with 5:58 left in the first. North Central would score two more goals to make it a 5-1 game after the first. In the second quarter the Crusaders were able to stay even with the Cardinals by getting goals from Dyson and Jasmine Stringham to go into halftime down 7-3. 

In the second half, the Crusaders were only able to score one goal in the third period from Katie Potter but were able to hold the Cardinals to just three goals to make it a 10-4 game. In the fourth quarter the Crusaders would strike quickly as Dyson would score the hat trick with 12:50 left to go to make it a 10-5 game and put the Crusaders within striking distance. The Cardinals would then score three unanswered goals before Lilly Mckee would cap off the scoring for the Crusaders with 5:55 left in the game which would bring us to the final of 14-6. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Dyson finished with three goals on nine shots with five being on goal
• McKee finished with one goal on four shots and one assist

Madonna will be on the road for the next four games starting with Malone University in Canton, Ohio on Saturday, March 16th. Face-off is set for 1:00 PM.
