LIVONIA, Mich. - Looking to get back to the rhythm of their first few games of the season, the Madonna Crusaders (5-2, 0-2) returned to ACCU Arena to take on Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent; the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers (9-1, 2-0). While the Crusaders led at halftime an explosive third quarter would put the Racers out in front. The Crusaders would dominate in the fourth quarter, but it wouldn't be enough to overtake the Racers' lead, as the Crusaders lost 61-52.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
After taking a minute to find their footing, the Crusaders would jump ahead in the second quarter, outscoring the Racers 17-10. With their big second quarter, the Crusaders went into the break leading 21-20.
Coming out in the third quarter, the Racers would explode to take a huge lead with 20 points in the third quarter to overtake the Crusaders. In the fourth quarter, the Crusaders would have a rally of their own, led by
Dekota Smith who scored 10 points in the final ten minutes alone. However, it would not be enough to come back as the Racers would go on to win 61-52.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Smith led the team with 15 points and eight rebounds.
- Chenelle King scored 11 points.

The Crusaders will look to get back on track as they head south to face the newest member of the WHAC; the Defiance College Yellow Jackets (0-5, 0-3). Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm next Wednesday, December 4 from Defiance, Ohio.
