Livonia, Mich. - The Madonna Crusaders returned to ACCU Arena tonight to face the newest member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference: the Defiance College Yellow Jackets. Coming off of two straight victories, the Crusaders would dominate the newcomers to pick up their third straight win with a 3-0 sweep.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Crusaders got off to a hot start, winning three straight points to start. While the Yellow Jackets would attempt to keep it close, the Crusaders would run away with a 25-15 win in the first set.
In the second set, it was the Yellow Jackets who would get on the board first, taking an early lead. Their lead would be short lived, with the Crusaders taking the second set once again 25-15.
The Yellow Jackets would turn up with dial in the third set, trying to avoid the sweep. They would go back and forth with the opening points, with the Crusaders edging out an early 13-5 lead. The Yellow Jackets would quietly chip away, not throwing in the towel yet. Just when it seemed like the Crusaders had it in the bag, up 20-12, the Yellow Jackets would spring to life. Before anyone even knew it, the game was nearly knotted up at 22-20. With the Yellow Jackets nearly forcing a fourth set, the Crusaders would lock in and close out the game 25-20.

The Crusaders will head down to Fort Wayne, where they will face the Indiana Tech Warriors on Friday, October 25 at 7:00 pm. The Crusaders will look to improve their win streak to four games.
