LIVONIA, Mich. - The Madonna University women's soccer team came up short against 14th-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University on Tuesday, falling 1-0 at the Madonna Athletic Complex. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

An early first half goal proved to be the difference between the Crusaders and Wildcats. Mallory Krueger scored the game's only goal in the seventh minute. She was assisted by Courtney Cockrum.

Madonna did their best to find the equalizer while IWU looked to tack on insurance. The Crusaders got eight saves combined from Mackenzie Fifer and Veronica Kozak, but were unable to tie the game and moved to 1-1 overall on the season, while the Wildcats moved to 3-1-2 overall. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• IWU outshot Madonna 20-7.
• Vitoria Sia led the Crusaders with three shots. 
• Avery Sluss made four saves for the Wildcats.
